Terms of service
The short version: Cornerlot finds UK commercial auction lots that fit your brief and tells you about them. It doesn't sell property, give advice or replace reading the legal pack. The full terms are below.
1. Who we are
Cornerlot is run by Origin Collective Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (number 16566341) with its registered office at 124-128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. You can reach us at hello@getcornerlot.com. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
2. What Cornerlot is, and isn't
Cornerlot reads the public catalogues of UK auction houses, matches the commercial lots against the searches you write, and shows and emails you the matches with a short summary.
- We don't run auctions or sell property. Every lot is offered by the auction house named on it, under that auction house's own conditions of sale. We aren't its agent and can't bid, reserve or negotiate for you.
- It isn't advice. Nothing on Cornerlot is legal, financial, tax, valuation or investment advice, or a recommendation to buy. Yields and rents are shown as the auction house published them, or calculated from its guide price, and can differ from what you'd actually get.
- Summaries can be wrong. Lot summaries are written automatically from the auction house's listing and may miss or misread details. Always read the auction house's particulars, the legal pack and any addenda, and take your own professional advice, before you bid.
- Coverage isn't complete. We read as many catalogues as we can, but some auction houses aren't covered, listings change or are withdrawn without notice, and a lot may reach us late or not at all. Guide prices are not reserves.
3. Your account
You must be 18 or over and give a working email address. Keep your password to yourself: you're responsible for what happens under your account. Cornerlot is meant for property investors and their advisers; if you use it for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms for it.
4. Subscriptions and payment
- Each saved search is its own subscription at £99 a month, paid in advance. The price at checkout is the price you pay. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email of any price change, and it applies from your next billing date.
- Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel. Payments are taken by Stripe.
- You can cancel any search at any time in your account. It stays active until the end of the month you've paid for, and isn't charged again.
- If you're a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of first subscribing. Because the service starts as soon as you pay, at your request, we'll refund what you paid less a proportionate amount for the days it ran. Email hello@getcornerlot.com to use this right.
- If a payment fails, the search pauses until it's paid. Your saved lots and notes stay.
5. Using Cornerlot fairly
Use Cornerlot for your own property research. Please don't copy, resell or republish the lots, summaries or data in bulk, scrape or automate access to the site, share your account, or try to get around its security or limits. We may suspend an account that does.
6. The auction houses' content
Lot details, photos and documents belong to the auction houses that published them. We show limited facts and a short summary, and link every lot back to the auction house's own page, which is the authoritative version. If you're an auction house and want a listing changed or removed, or want to work with us, email hello@getcornerlot.com and we'll act within two working days.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to email matches every morning but can't promise the service will always be available or error-free. We may change features or stop covering an auction house. If we ever close Cornerlot, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any period you've paid for and won't get.
8. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Otherwise, we aren't liable for decisions you make, bids you place or don't place, or properties you buy based on information on Cornerlot, or for losses of profit, business or opportunity. Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in those 12 months.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using Cornerlot and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@getcornerlot.com. We may close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we can.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that affect you materially, we'll email you at least 30 days before they apply. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. Please contact us first so we can try to sort it out.
